Title 1:Secure Multiparty Computation

Speaker:Prof.Huaxiong Wang, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Abstract:Secure Multiparty Computations (MPC) are basic cryptographic protocols that allow a group of mutually distrusting parties to evaluate a function for their private inputs in such a way that the group knows the outcome of the computation while their inputs stay private. In this talk,we give a survey of state of the art in secure MPC.

Biography:Prof.Huaxiong Wang received a PhD in Mathematics from University of Haifa, Israel in 1996 and a PhD in Computer Science from University of Wollongong, Australia in 2001. Prof. Wang has been with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore since 2006, where he also served as the Head of Division of Mathematical Sciences from 2013 to 2015. He is currently the Deputy Director of Strategic Centre for Research in Privacy-Preserving Technologies & Systems (SCRIPTS) at NTU. Prior to NTU, he held faculty positions at Macquarie University and University of Wollongong in Australia. He also held visiting positions at ENS de Lyon in France, Fujian Normal University in China, City University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore and Kobe University in Japan.Prof. Wanghas more than 20 year experience of research in cryptography and information security. He is author/co-author of 1 book, 9 edited books and over 200 papers in international journals and conferences, covering various areas in cryptography and information security. He has supervised over 50 PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, and has served on the editorial board of 9 international journals and as a member/chair of the program committee for more than 100 international conferences. He received the inaugural Award of Best Research Contribution awarded by the Computer Science Association of Australasia in 2004 and was the invited speaker of ASIACRYPT 2017.

 

Title 2:A Brief Introduction to Oblivious Transfer

Speaker:Prof.Chaoping Xing, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Abstract:In cryptography, an oblivious transfer (OT) protocol is a type of protocol in which a sender transfers one of potentially many pieces of information to a receiver, but remains oblivious as to what piece (if any) has been transferred. Oblivious Transfer (OT) is one of the fundamental building blocks of cryptographic protocols. In this talk, we will briefly introduce this interesting topic.

Biography:Prof.Chaoping Xing received his PhD degree in 1990 from University of Science and Technology of China. From 1990 to 1993 he was a lecturer and associate professor in the same university. He joined University of Essen, Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow from 1993 to 1995. After this he spent most time in Institute of Information Processing, Austrian Academy of Sciences until 1998. From March of 1998 to November of 2007, he was working in National University of Singapore. Since December of 2007, he has been with Nanyang Technological University and currently is a full Professor. Dr. Xing has been working on the areas in coding theory and cryptography.

 

报告题目3零知识证明:从密码学到金融科技

主讲人:邓燚研究员,中科院信工所

摘要:本报告将综述零知识证明的发展历史、从原始的理论研究到目前在飞速发展金融科技中的重要应用。这一发展历史充分体现了密码学和计算机科学之间的相互促进,本报告将着重解释其背后的一些主要思想。

个人简介邓燚,中国科学院信息工程研究所研究员,博士生导师,于2008年获中国科学院软件所信息安全国家重点实验室博士学位,曾先后在英国伦敦大学学院和新加坡南洋理工大学从事博士后研究工作。主要从事密码学研究,特别是有关零知识证明和密码协议的通信与计算复杂性的问题。曾在一些密码学和计算机科学领域旗舰会议,如FOCS, Eurocrypt, Asiacrypt, PKC上发表多篇论文。2011年获中国密码学会首届优秀青年奖,2014年获中国密码学会首届创新奖一等奖。

报告题目4分组密码算法设计进展

主讲人:吴文玲研究员,中科院软件所

摘要:本报告首先简要介绍分组密码的研究现状,然后介绍课题组新设计的分组密码算法—uBlock,包括uBlock的设计背景、设计原理、安全性分析以及实现性能评估。

个人简介吴文玲,中国科学院软件研究所研究员,中国密码学会副理事长。长期从事对称密码算法设计与分析研究,曾主持973、863、自然科学基金、密码基金等课题,在JoC、DCC、Asiacrypt和FSE等发表学术论文100余篇,出版专著2部。曾获中国科学院优秀研究生指导教师奖和朱李月华优秀教师奖,北京市科技进步一等奖、密码科技进步一等奖、国家科技进步二等奖、国家技术发明二等奖。

 

Title 5:Application of Blockchain in the Society

Speaker:Prof.Joseph K. Liu,Monash University,Australia

Abstract:In this talk, I will cover the basic applications of blockchain, in particular for fintech, supply chain and food safety area. I will discuss the blockchain technology behind these application and will further discuss the use cases in Australia.

Biography:Prof.Joseph Liu is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University. He got his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong at 2004. Prior to joining Monash at 2015, he has worked as a research scientist at Institute for InfocommResearch (I2R) in Singapore for more than 7 years. His research areas include cyber security, blockchain, IoT security, applied cryptography and privacy enhanced technology. He has received more than 5500 citations and his H-index is 42. He has established the Monash Blockchain Research Lab at October 2017 and serves as the director since then. His remarkable research in linkable ring signature forms the theory basis of Monero (XMR), one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the world. He has been given the Dean's Award for Excellence in Research Impact in 2018, and the prestigious ICT Researcher of the Year 2018 Award by the Australian Computer Society (ACS),the largest professional body in Australia representing the ICT sector, for his contribution to the blockchain and cyber security community.

 

报告题目6RECTANGLE:一个适合多平台的轻量级分组密码

主讲人:张文涛研究员,中科院信工所

摘要:轻量级密码是为适合物联网中资源受限设备的一类特殊的密码算法。本报告介绍轻量级分组密码RECTANGLE,它具有以下优点:安全性分析深入,设计准则公开透明,软硬件实现均表现突出,侧信道防护代价低,分组长度易扩展等。将从RECTANGLE的设计原理、安全性分析、软硬件实现等方面分别展开。

个人简介:张文涛,中国科学院信息工程研究所研究员,中国科学院大学教授,主要从事对称密码算法的研究。主要工作成果有:设计了轻量级分组密码RECTANGLE,获得了国内外的多项认可;对4比特S盒给出一种新的分类,并将成果用于3个轻量级密码算法的安全性评估;对AES、SM4等国内外密码算法标准的安全性进行了深入研究。
